Social Worker Book Club Annual Retreat

November 7th- 9th, 2025

Suttle Lake in Central Oregon

Social worker book club’s annual retreat is a chance to meet other social workers in Oregon, earn some CEU’s, rest and restore in community.

This year our theme is sustainability in the field. We’ll be reading “Burn Out” and “Trauma Stewardship”, please come prepared to actively participate in a discussion around those topics. If you don’t get a chance to finish the book, no worries, your hosts have read them for you!

erin copley, LCSW (who never capitalizes her name cause she thinks it looks weird) and Tracey Biebel, LCSW (who doesn’t have any weird name hang ups). Read more about us here.

Schedule:
Friday, November 7th - welcome

6pm: Check in to lodge/set up camp and meet at host cabin for charcuterie style dinner and first book club meeting

Saturday, November 8th -

10am - Breakfast and book club discussion at host cabin

1pm - Lunch on your own

2 pm - Afternoon down time with optional meditative hike and/or cold plunge

6:30pm - Dinner at host cabin


Sunday, November 9th-
Integration and goodbye’s

9 am - Light breakfast and final book club discussion at host cabin

11am - check out

Note- you’ll receive your CE certificate and verification about one week later.


Cost: $200/person plus lodging

We’ve thought long and hard about pricing for this annual event. This fee covers the costs we incur and nothing more. This is a rare chance to get CE’s from your peers not some corporate psychologist.

What’s included:

  • Four simple, delicious meals prepared by your hosts (lunch on your own)

  • Book club facilitation by Erin Copley, LCSW or Tracey Biebel, LCSW

  • 6 CEU’s awarded through Oregon Board of Social Work

Not covered:

  • Lodging (we’ll be meeting up at Suttle Lake Lodge - we suggest booking lodging there or at the nearby campground if you’re feeling adventurous!

  • Lunch- bring your own or enjoy a fantastic meal at either the lodge or the boat house!
